Jack Pyke Hunting Clothing Care Instructions 

Washing your hunting clothing:

Hunters Jacket - Hunters Trousers - Fleece Jacket - Countryman Jacket, Trousers and all Stealth Fabric

Jack Pyke clothing recommend a hand wash, with a non detergent cleaner with a sponge and rinse thoroughly with clean water. A soft brush may be used to remove stubborn dirt, but it is not recommended to fully immerse the garment in water. Always use tepid water of 30o C or below. Always when cleaning your Jack Pyke hunting clothing, fasten zips and Velcro closures.

Drying your hunting garments:

Simply hang the garment out to dry not using heaters or radiators to ensure a natural drying time. Never fold the garment when wet.

Long term Care for your Jack Pyke hunting clothing:

Never use household cleaners or detergents on any garments as this will leave a water-attracting residue on your hunting clothing.

Commercial outdoor clothing cleaners will help keep your outdoor hunting garments in tip top condition, always read the manufactures label and test a small section first. Using proper cleaners made for the job will protect your hunting clothing and if waterproof clothing, will protect the manufacturer's DWR - Durable Water Repellent protection.

If you have already washed your hunters jacket or any other piece of outdoor clothing with normal household detergent, you may have signs of degrading DWR. Things to look out for if you suspect damage to your clothing are, during long periods of wearing when little or no humidity with high internal garment temperature, condensation could form on the inside of the membrane, producing internal dampness convincing the wearer that the garment is leaking.

This would be due to reduced breath-ability of the fabric, significantly reducing the rapid high wicking effect of the garment & not allowing moisture to pass through the membrane to the outside air.

Things can be put Wright by first washing the garment in clean water to remove all detergents, then use a specialist re-proofing detergent and follow the manufactures instructions.

When completely dry use a spray on proofer such as the Jack Pyke waterproofing spray, again following the manufactures instructions, making sure you pay special attention to all seams, shoulders and elbows of your hunting clothing..
